IT Auditor

About This Role

This IT Auditor position offers an opportunity to continuously learn and develop IT technical skills while understanding the business operations. The role involves assisting with audit testing activities for internal audit engagements, focusing on current and emerging Technology, Information Security, and Digital Channels, as well as special projects. It suits a highly self-motivated, creative, and enthusiastic professional who can work collaboratively and occasionally independently with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Execute testing according to department and IIA standards, producing clear, concise documentation that aligns with test objectives
• Participate in process walkthroughs and document narratives and conclusions when requested
• Contribute to the positive and team-oriented culture by maintaining cooperative relationships, facilitating the resolution of conflicts, sharing information, and accepting and providing feedback
• Develop positive working relationships and maintain effective communication with the audit leadership team, audit team members, clients, and key stakeholders
• Apply analytical skills to review information, assess audit results, and evaluate the adequacy of controls
• Prepare clear and concise audit findings and recommendations for management review
• Represent Wintrust and internal audit, along with the manager, on events and projects when asked

Requirements

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university majoring in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
• 1.5 to 3 years of relevant audit experience in public accounting or internal audit; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
• Knowledge of internal audit processes (i.e., sampling, testing, and process/control walkthroughs) and work paper documentation skills

Nice to have:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with auditing software (TeamMate+)
• A relevant certification (CIA, CPA, or CFE)
