IT Auditor

About This Role

This IT Auditor position focuses on developing and performing information technology audits, and will be an integral part of a new pension administration system replacement and implementation. The role suits a problem-solver who enjoys continuous learning and contributing to organizational improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance security, efficiency, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan internal audits of assigned information system areas
• Update previous audit steps or develop new audit plans
• Review previous audit plans and recommend updated or expanded audit steps
• Perform internal audits of assigned information system areas, including IT general controls and pre-implementation of new systems or significant changes to current systems
• Document procedures performed and their results
• Follow up on identified exceptions with process owners to verify agreement
• Determine the root cause of audit exceptions
• Perform walkthroughs to obtain and document an understanding of processes and internal controls for information system audits
• Interview process owners and document current processes and internal controls
• Conclude and report on audits performed
• Draft audit findings and reports for review by the Chief Internal Auditor
• Discuss findings with the control operator and department manager
• Provide recommendations to improve processes based on understanding gained during walkthroughs and audit procedures
• Perform special projects and provide management consulting services as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in information technology (IT), accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field
• Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience performing duties comparable to an Internal Auditor Associate
• Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws, rules, and regulations related to internal auditing
• Thorough knowledge of the principles, theories, and practices used in internal auditing and/or in specialized area(s)
• Skill in detecting complex violations and non-compliance with laws, regulations, and policies
• Skill in explaining and interpreting complex irregularities
• Skill in preparing complete and accurate reports of complex audits
• Ability to plan, supervise, and evaluate the work activities of other professional auditors and/or serve as a specialist
• Ability to adapt auditing principles to difficult and complex work problems
• Project management and data analysis experience
