IT Audit Manager

About This Role

This role is for an IT Audit Manager to join the Corporate Risk and Assurance division within the Business Services Directorate. You will provide a responsive and helpful service to audit clients through professional evaluation of risk management, internal control, and governance arrangements. The role involves supporting the Head of IT Audit and being responsible for the planning, supervision, and delivery of IT internal audits, advisory, and other assurance engagements.

Responsibilities

• Provide a responsive and helpful service to audit clients through a sound and professional evaluation of risk management, internal control, and governance arrangements
• Support the Head of IT Audit in the development and implementation of robust systems and processes that lead to high-quality planning, decision making, control, and governance across National Highways
• Contribute to the development of the IT audit plan, including determining priorities and ensuring enough resources are available to deliver it in a timely and high-quality manner
• Guide and day-to-day manage an effective team of auditors on assignment, planning, and delivery of the audit programme
• Review all audit documentation from terms of reference through to the audit report and action management, ensuring delivery meets appropriate quality and professional standards
• Attend and present at senior meetings, as required, presenting key audit findings in a professional manner and being a trusted business advisor
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with senior clients and stakeholders built on professional trust

Requirements

• CISA or equivalent professional qualification
• Significant experience leading and developing IT audit teams, including line management
• Proven ability to set clear objectives, priorities, and expectations to drive high performance and professional development
• Proven experience developing audit strategies and annual audit plans, and leading complex, risk-based audit engagements to provide independent assurance over key business and technology risks
• Strong report-writing and communication skills, with experience producing clear, concise, and impactful audit reports for Executive and Board-level stakeholders
• Significant IT and Operational Technology (OT) audit experience, with knowledge of technology risk, controls, cyber security, infrastructure, cloud services, and enterprise applications
• Proven understanding and application of recognised industry frameworks, including COBIT, ITIL, and NIST CSF
