IT Administrator

About This Role

This IT Administrator role supports and troubleshoots infrastructure and low-voltage systems, including WiFi, television, telephone, servers, and web-based programs, within a senior living community. It involves deploying and managing hardware assets and coordinating with a third-party IT Managed Services Provider for escalations, projects, and performance monitoring. The role requires respectful interaction with residents, family members, visitors, and staff, and is considered safety-sensitive.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network systems, reliability, and disaster recovery with the third-party IT Managed Services Provider
• Set up hardware and install and configure software
• Maintain hardware and peripheral devices and recommend repairs and preventative maintenance as needed
• Maintain cybersecurity best practices including patching, endpoint protection, and user access controls
• Assist with incident response and security audits
• Help ensure compliance with HIPAA and data privacy regulations
• Troubleshoot system and equipment failures and provide solutions to restore functionality
• Provide timely, user-focused technical support and training
• Provide occasional after-hours support or on-call availability for critical systems

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a computer technician or similar role
• Proven experience in customer service
• Extensive experience with WiFi networks
• Strong knowledge of networks, computer systems, software, and IT components
• Extensive knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with internal/external customers effectively
• Exceptional organizing, time-management, and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to lift and move IT equipment (e.g., computers, monitors, network devices)
• Repetitive actions/motion of one or both hands
• Hearing ordinary conversation and office sounds
• Verbal communication in person and on the phone
• Written communication by hand and on PC

Nice to have:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
• Relevant IT certifications
