About This Role
This engineering role focuses on designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining high-throughput, low-latency microservices. It involves building robust APIs, designing event-driven workflows, and implementing efficient data persistence layers, while also ensuring code quality and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop microservices
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency microservices using Java (17/21), Spring Boot, and cloud-native frameworks
- Build and document robust RESTful APIs and event-driven interfaces adhering to enterprise API standards, OpenAPI/Swagger specifications
- Design asynchronous workflows and event streaming pipelines using Apache Kafka or JMS
- Implement efficient data persistence layers using relational databases (Oracle) and NoSQL stores (MongoDB), ensuring optimized indexing, query execution, and transactional integrity
- Enforce clean code principles, SOLID design patterns, domain-driven design (DDD), and test-driven development (TDD/BDD)
- Author comprehensive unit, integration, and contract tests utilizing JUnit 5, Mockito maintaining high automated test coverage (>85%)
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines and containerize services using Docker and Kubernetes / OpenShift
- Integrate logging, metrics, and tracing instrumentation into microservices using frameworks such as OpenTelemetry, Micrometer, Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk/ELK
- Actively participate in Scrum/Kanban ceremonies (sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, retrospectives)
- Partner with Level 3 (L3) support teams for triage, root-cause analysis (RCA), and remediation of critical production incidents during release rollouts and business hours
Requirements
- 4-8 years in an Apps Development role
- Demonstrated execution capabilities
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; Data driven and results-oriented
- Experience in running high traffic, distributed, cloud based services
- Experience in affecting large culture change
- Experience leading infrastructure programs
- Skilled at working with third party service providers
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
