Duties

MAJOR JOB DUTIES:

  • xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /Develops, interprets, implements, and/or distributes technical guidance for all phases of the semi-annual budget
  • Conducts studies: gathers, reviews, and analyzes data, processes and procedures, and develops/recommends problem solutions
  • Participates in the design and/or redesign of automated inventory management systems
  • Participates in meetings and conferences
  • Provides advice and assistance to others

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-11) or equivalent. Specialized experience is described as responsibility for evaluating current automated inventory management systems and interpreting policy to implement procedures affecting specific areas of budget.

Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-11 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge of commonly applied inventory management principles, procedures, techniques, and practices.
  2. Knowledge of established supply systems and automated data system design and evaluation techniques, methods and procedures
  3. Knowledge of a broad range of supply program relationships and interrelated processes.
  4. Knowledge of acquisition processes, automated records and control systems, material, substitution criteria, and storage, issue, and disposal processes.
  5. Skill to apply common analytical methods and techniques to resolve procedural inventory management problems and issues.
  6. Knowledge of budgeting, procurement, and funding processes related to inventory management functions.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: You MUST provide transcripts to support your educational claims. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
