Inventory Clerk

About This Role

An Inventory Clerk maintains inventory levels and accuracy within a distribution center. This position involves reporting, physical inventory, and system audits, utilizing an inventory management system to prepare and track materials and products for shipping and receiving to meet customer needs. The role may also include product holds/releases, recalls, and returns, with specific practices or regulations such as food safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintain perpetual inventory of materials and products and generate applicable inventory reports
• Perform daily cycle count activities and inventory audits
• Track and monitor all damaged product in inventory; provide necessary reports to leadership
• Verify clerical inventory records against physical inventory counts; investigate and report discrepancies
• Coordinate product recalls, holds/releases, and product infestation audits
• Monitor pest control program if required at site
• Ensure facility is inspection ready at all times (i.e. SQFI, FDA or other customer needs)
• Facilitate quality/regulated training and coordinate the site's quality management program
• Maintain the site's quality management portal and draft/revise site SOPs as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate degree or two years of equivalent experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a warehouse or distribution environment
• Industry-specific experience (i.e. food grade) may be required based on the site
• Familiarity with ISO requirements preferred
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Attention to detail
• Pass Background and Drug screen
