Inventory Clerk

About This Role

This Inventory Clerk role is crucial for maintaining accurate, organized, and available materials to support daily manufacturing operations. The clerk will play an important part in the facility's inventory control program by performing cycle counts, resolving discrepancies, processing inventory transactions, and maintaining precise records in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC). Reporting to the Materials and Production Scheduling Manager, the role involves close collaboration with various departments to ensure inventory accuracy and improve warehouse processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cycle counts according to the company’s inventory control program
• Reconcile physical counts with inventory records in Business Central
• Investigate shortages, overages, missing materials, and other inventory discrepancies to identify root causes
• Verify inventory quantities, locations, and lot numbers, and maintain traceability for all inventory movements
• Process return-to-stock transactions from completed production orders
• Support Production by completing inventory transactions accurately and on time
• Make inventory adjustments with proper documentation and management approval
• Monitor inventory accuracy and identify recurring issues
• Maintain organized electronic and physical inventory and receiving records in accordance with company procedures
• Recommend process improvements and support continuous improvement efforts related to inventory accuracy, receiving efficiency, and warehouse operations

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong data entry and computer skills, including intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Understanding of inventory transactions, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation
• Strong attention to detail, organization, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment
• Attendance on a regular, consistent basis is mandatory

Nice to have:

• Two or more years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, manufacturing, or logistics
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or another ERP system
