Position Summary Performs routine and complex interventional radiology (IR) procedures, ensuring compliance with departmental workflows and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Examinations/Procedures: Reviews requisitions, confirms procedure details with physicians, selects appropriate equipment, and optimizes imaging to minimize radiation exposure (ALARA). Prepares trays, positions patients, maintains sterile technique, and assists during procedures, including acting as second scrub when needed. Follows quality and data integrity protocols and practices effective communication.
- Patient/Family Relations: Responds to patient needs, creates a supportive environment, and collaborates with the IR team to assess patient physical and emotional status.
- Equipment: Identifies and reports malfunctions.
- General: Participates in meetings, adheres to policies, and embodies core values of excellence, innovation, respect, teamwork, and accountability.
- Professional Development: Engages in simulation training, completes competencies, and maintains current knowledge of regulations and standards.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Allied Health
- At least 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist
- Registered by ARRT
- BLS Certification
