Job Summary:
The Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab RN is responsible for assisting in performing cardiac and vascular procedures using imaging technology within the catheterization laboratory. This includes prepping patients, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing post-procedure care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assisting physicians during interventional radiology and cath lab procedures
- Preparing patients for procedures and explaining the process
- Monitoring patients' vital signs and assisting with sedation
- Administering medications as instructed by the physician
- Documenting patient progress and maintaining accurate medical records
- Providing post-procedure care and monitoring for complications
- Collaborating with other healthcare team members to ensure patient safety and comfort
- Participating in on-call duties as required
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in interventional radiology or cath lab
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-stress situations
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
