JOB SUMMARY: Specializes in performing minimally invasive, image‑guided procedures to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions.

DUTIES AND

RESPONSIBILITIES: *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform interventional radiology procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Interpret diagnostic imaging to guide treatment decisions.
• Evaluate patients pre‑procedure and provide post‑procedure care.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing them with clear and concise information about their care and procedures.
• Work closely with a team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and support staff.
• Stay up to date on the latest developments and advancements in interventional radiology.
• Ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly maintained and in good working condition.
• Maintains and updates patient care records.
• Provides consultation services to other physicians in accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws.
• Maintains strictest patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required to include call coverage and community care and education.

MINIMUM

Requirements:

• Active Physician’s License from the State of North Carolina and certifications from the DEA are required.
• Additional fellowship training in Interventional Radiology.
• Board certification in Radiology.
• Specialty training in Interventional Radiology.
• Must be in good standing with the Medical Staff of CarolinaEast Health Systems.

• Ability to communicate and work well with patients and staff.
• Requires normal visual acuity and hearing.
• Requires exposure to communicable disease and bodily fluids.
• Requires working under stress in emergency situations or during irregular hours.
