Interpreter

About This Role

This interpreter role guides international patients through their surgical journey in Istanbul, from pre-operative preparation to post-operative care. The interpreter manages patient documentation, accompanies patients at the hospital, and coordinates follow-ups, ensuring they feel informed and supported throughout their experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, collect, and manage patient paperwork, consent forms, and medical documentation
• Accompany patients at the hospital during surgery preparation and admission
• Interpret between patients and hospital staff
• Act as the main point of contact for patients and their companions during their stay
• Plan and coordinate post-operative care, check-ups, and follow-up appointments
• Respond promptly and clearly to patient questions before and after surgery
• Maintain accurate patient records and follow-up schedules

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in a patient-facing or client-facing role (patient coordination, healthcare, medical tourism, hospitality, or similar)
• Very good written and spoken English (fluent level)
• Warm, calm, and reassuring manner with patients
• Strong organizational skills and disciplined follow-through
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with documentation
• Discretion in handling confidential medical information
• Flexibility to work at the hospital and to respond to time-sensitive patient needs outside standard working hours

Nice to have:

• Fluency in at least one of the following languages: Italian, French, German, or Spanish
• Healthcare background
