Internship - Management Control

About This Role

This internship in management control involves participating in financial reporting, budget monitoring, and data analysis within the Finance and Performance Department. The role suits a Master 1 Management Control student who is rigorous and intellectually curious, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the invoicing process: manage interim statements, verify the consistency of invoiced amounts with expenses incurred and realized, and contribute to monitoring invoicing deadlines
• Ensure budgetary monitoring of expenses: track incurred and committed expenses, analyze discrepancies between the provisional budget and actual expenses, and contribute to the reliability of budgetary data
• Contribute to intra-annual budgetary management: participate in budget update reporting, analyze expense trends, and identify any discrepancies compared to forecasts
• Update dashboards to monitor key budgetary indicators and facilitate activity management (SAP, Power BI)
• Conduct management control analyses: analyze financial data, identify significant trends and discrepancies, research explanatory factors, and propose areas for improvement
• Participate in data reliability and the improvement of analysis and reporting methods to enhance activity performance (using AI)

Requirements

• Currently a Master 1 Management Control student
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and financial reporting

Nice to have:

• Proficiency in Power BI, particularly for creating and optimizing dashboards
• Knowledge and use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, especially for automating certain tasks, optimizing existing tools, and improving reporting processes

Important Details

• Schedule: 3 to 6 months, starting from the first half of 2027
• Team: 9 people in the Performance and Management Control Department (DPCG) / Lille Performance and Management Control Service (SPCG Lille)
