Intern (m/f/d) in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Bioengineering

About This Role

This internship offers students in engineering fields the opportunity to gain practical experience within a leading German chemical company. Working with an interdisciplinary team, the intern will contribute to projects focused on the application of 3D printing in process engineering, optimizing apparatus designs through simulation and rapid prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Conduct literature research on the current state of 3D printing research
• Develop new designs for process engineering apparatuses
• Create drawings using CAD software (e.g., NX)
• Elaborate and improve reaction and process models
• Support or independently perform simulations (CFD/FEM/Multiphysics) with common simulation software (e.g., Fluent, StarCCM+, OpenFoam)
• Support feasibility studies in projects with various business lines (Proof of Concepts)

Requirements

• Student (Bachelor, Master, Dipl.-Ing) in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Technical Chemistry, or a similar field
• Ideally, initial knowledge in some of the following areas: 3D printing, CAD, topology optimization, CFD simulation, AI, programming with Python - or motivation to learn these
• Very good German and English skills
