Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

About This Role

This night-shift post in the Intensive Care Unit is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality patient care. The Registered Nurse provides direct care, monitors critically ill patients, collaborates with the healthcare team, and guides patient and family education.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and individualized nursing care to critically ill patients
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic and physiologic data to identify changes in patient condition
• Communicate effectively with physicians regarding changes in patient status, test results, and response to treatment
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately as prescribed
• Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations and changes in patient condition
• Direct and guide other nursing staff and healthcare personnel in the delivery of patient care
• Document all nursing actions, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care
• Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and hospital policies
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and performance initiatives

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred

Nice to have:

• Completion of Critical Care Course
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
