Job Summary:
The Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (RN ICU) provides high-quality care to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit. They monitor patient conditions, administer medications, perform treatments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor and assess patient conditions in the ICU
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals
- Respond to emergencies and provide critical care interventions
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and post-discharge care
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures for patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU or coronary care unit
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
