About This Role
This role is for an Integration Developer to take ownership of the APIs, integrations, and services that connect the company's core business systems, e-commerce platforms, customer applications, and data environment. Working with a senior developer, you will expand internal development capabilities, share ownership of the integration estate, and ensure critical knowledge is documented within the team.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain REST APIs and integration services connecting ERP, finance, e-commerce, CRM, and supporting systems
- Develop microservices
- Build B2B and supplier integrations for product, pricing, order, and inventory data
- Maintain existing internal React-based tools and automation services in collaboration with front-end contractors
- Develop and maintain SQL Server objects (queries, views, stored procedures) to support integrations, reporting, and the data warehouse
- Contribute to data quality, lineage, and the transition off legacy ETL tooling
- Provide second-level support for integration incidents, performing root-cause analysis and delivering permanent fixes
- Apply disciplined engineering practices including Git, code review, testing, structured releases, and change control
- Proactively monitor integration health and security, including OAuth 2.0 authentication
- Document all integrations and data flows to team standards
- Actively participate in cross-training to reduce single-person dependencies
- Contribute to the cloud migration programme, preparing integration workloads for cloud-native services
- Deliver project work through the intake framework, meeting agreed milestones
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial development experience focused on integration, APIs, and back-end services (not a front-end or full-stack role)
- Strong Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript skills
- Proven REST API design experience including OAuth 2.0
- Solid SQL Server/T-SQL expertise
- Experience integrating ERP, POS, e-commerce, or CRM systems
- Experience working with vendor APIs and file-based interfaces
- Disciplined engineering habits including Git, code review, testing, documentation, and change control
Nice to have:
- Cloud platform exposure (Functions, App Service, Service Bus, API Management) or readiness to build those skills
- React familiarity for maintaining internal apps
- Data warehousing and BI exposure
- Retail or multi-site business experience
- Familiarity with iPaaS/ETL or event-driven architectures
