About the role
Location: Chesapeake, VA. Indian Creek Correctional Center is a level 2 medium security prison. This facility provides specialized treatment services to individuals with substance use disorder.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm OR 7:45 am – 4:45 pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
Pay Rate: $24.04-$25.00/hour

The Intake Counselor is responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and individual treatment plans within established time frames and with input from the client and multi-disciplinary team.
- Meeting with participant’s primary Counselor to review intake and initial treatment plan information within designated time frame.
- Correcting all documentation deficiencies in established time frames as directed by the Clinical Supervisor.
- Assisting the Clinical Supervisors with weekly chart audits and discharge planning.
- File room upkeep and maintaining clinical records in accordance with all regulatory, contractual, and Spectrum standards.
- Addressing program participant issues, concerns, and inappropriate behaviors promptly and in accordance with Spectrum’s clinical design.
Qualifications:
- No formal certification required.
- Minimum of HS Diploma/GED.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in administrative and records management is a plus.
- Experience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plus.
