About the role
Duties
In this position, typical assignments include:
- Assists in the review of all project applications and supplements, with associated Damage survey Reports or Project Worksheets, for conformity to regulations and established eligibility criteria. Prepares recommendations for approval and processing of payment.
- Carry out assigned tasks relative to floodplain management and wetland protection.
- Analyzes inspection reports, final vouchers, and Federal and/or State audit reports on public assistance programs and prepares recommendations for follow up actions, as required.
- Responds to various correspondence concerning public assistance operations and program from governmental officials and agencies, individuals or groups of the general public and volunteer organizations.
- Ensures Civil Rights compliance with Federal Disaster Assistance regulations concerning nondiscrimination in disaster assistance.
- Serves as the main point of contact (POC) dealing with insurance or related matters; communicates with and supports disaster recovery, closeout, long term recovery operations and daily program operations within the department. Serves as insurance liaison w/ State Insurance Department, Agencies and other on all insurance and related matters affecting the Public Assistance Department.
