Instructor Pilot

About This Role

This Instructor Pilot role at CAE involves building confidence and skill in pilots, inspiring mastery, and preparing them for critical moments. You will lead simulator sessions and pre-flight briefings, contributing to CAE’s legacy of flight training excellence while keeping your own skills sharp. The position focuses on developing pilot confidence and skill through high-quality simulator and ground training.

Responsibilities

• Deliver flight simulator and ground school training in alignment with regulatory requirements, CAE curriculum, and customer expectations
• Conduct professional, comprehensive pre- and post-flight simulator briefings
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for client training and internal course development
• Perform administrative duties such as completing training records, maintaining instructional qualifications, and recommending remedial training when needed
• Provide instruction across one or more aircraft types for licenses, type ratings, certificates, and internal qualifications
• Qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman after approximately 1.5+ years (subject to business need)

Requirements

• Unrestricted ATP certificate or completion of ATP Written
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet-based programs
• Participation in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program
• Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Nice to have:

• Unrestricted PIC Type Rating
• FAR Part 135 experience and 3,000+ total flight hours
• Experience flying business aircraft
• Prior instructional or training experience
• Ability to tailor training content to a diverse customer base
• Strong attention to detail with commitment to accurate recordkeeping in accordance with CAE and FAA standards
• Demonstrated customer-service mindset and ability to create a positive learning environment
• Professional character with strong verbal and written communication skills
