About This Role
This role involves transforming source content into engaging and learner-centric e-learning experiences. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with a Project Lead, AI Visual Designer, and E-learning Developer to translate subject matter into learning journeys, storyboards, scenarios, assessments, and interactions. The focus is on ensuring learners understand, apply, and demonstrate knowledge, rather than simply converting content into screens.
Responsibilities
- Analyse source material and identify key concepts, processes, principles, and application areas
- Break complex content into logical learning modules and topics
- Define clear and measurable learning objectives
- Map content to appropriate L1/L2/L3 learning experiences: L1 Understand (explanation, demonstration, visualisation); L2 Apply (scenarios, cases, guided practice); L3 Decide (complex scenarios, judgement and decision-making)
- Ensure learning experiences are aligned to the intended learner capability
- Develop detailed e-learning storyboards covering on-screen content, narration, visual treatment, interactions, animations, scenarios, knowledge checks, assessments, and feedback
- Provide clear instructions to the AI Visual Designer and E-learning Developer
- Ensure the storyboard is sufficiently detailed to minimise ambiguity during development
- Develop realistic banking/professional scenarios where appropriate
- Create knowledge checks, MCQs, case-based questions, and decision-making exercises
- Design meaningful distractors and feedback
- Ensure assessments measure the intended learning objectives rather than simply recall
- Use AI tools to accelerate content analysis, learning objective drafting, content structuring, scenario ideation, question generation, feedback generation, summaries and examples, and initial storyboard development
- Review, refine, and validate all AI-generated output before it enters production
- Work closely with the AI Visual Designer on visualisation and media treatment
- Work closely with the E-learning Developer on interaction and technical feasibility
- Work closely with the Project Manager on timelines, dependencies, and delivery
- Conduct instructional and content QA of developed modules
- Check alignment between objective, content, interaction, and assessment
- Identify inconsistencies, gaps, repetition, and unnecessary cognitive load
- Review and close internal/client feedback
