Instructional Designer

About This Role

This hands-on design and development role supports the creation and improvement of learning materials for a large operational workforce. It suits an Instructional Designer who enjoys creating practical, engaging workplace learning, working autonomously on allocated projects while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review, improve, and uplift existing eLearning courses
• Design and develop new eLearning materials
• Develop presentation slides, facilitator guides, and learner resources
• Create learning activities, assessments, and visual learning assets
• Apply adult learning principles across face-to-face, blended, and online learning
• Translate technical and operational information into clear and engaging learning content
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to determine learning requirements
• Incorporate stakeholder feedback while maintaining quality and consistency across learning materials

Requirements

• Two to five years of professional instructional design experience
• Demonstrated experience developing adult workplace learning
• Practical experience with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Rise and Storyline
• Strong written communication and visual design capability
• Strong stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and negotiation skills
• Ability to work autonomously and manage allocated design and development activities

Nice to have:

• Experience using Canva
• Strong visual design skills and the ability to quickly learn new design techniques and tools
• Qualification in Training Design and Development or an equivalent discipline
• Experience developing learning materials for blue-collar, operational, construction, infrastructure, transport, trade, or safety-focused workforces
