About the role
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist with inpatient hospital expertise to support a large, Level I Trauma Center and children’s hospital in Connecticut. This 13-week contract role begins in late September and offers a combination of day and evening shifts with rotating weekends, providing a dynamic work schedule within a busy clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical pharmacy support in inpatient settings, including children’s and women’s health units
- Manage operational pharmacy duties such as dispensing, sterile processing, or Pharmacist in Charge responsibilities based on expertise
- Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems to ensure safe and efficient medication management
- Participate in training and orientation activities (non-billable hours included)
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years pharmacy experience, with PGY1 residency or equivalent inpatient experience (2-3 years if no residency)
- Valid Connecticut pharmacist license; ability to obtain a CT temporary license within 7-10 business days if not currently licensed in state
- Experience with inpatient hospital pharmacy, preferably with exposure to pediatric and women’s health populations
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems
- Strong clinical judgment and adaptability to work across various pharmacy functions
Location: New Haven, Connecticut
Shift/Hours
- 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts combining days and evenings
- Rotating weekend coverage required
