About the role

Lead the pharmacy services of a major regional healthcare system as the Director of Pharmacy at a prominent 772-bed Level II Trauma Center in Tallahassee, FL. This executive leadership role commands a competitive base salary range of $205,000 to $220,000 annually, supplemented by a $10,000 sign-on bonus and eligibility for an annual bonus. You will oversee a diverse and comprehensive pharmacy operation staffed by over 100 employees, including six direct reports, ensuring high-quality inpatient and ambulatory pharmacy services within a renowned nonprofit healthcare system.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational management for pharmacy services covering inpatient, ambulatory, clinical, sterile compounding, and inventory management.
  • Lead and mentor a team comprising six managers and assistant directors across various pharmacy service lines.
  • Oversee 24/7 pharmacy operations to ensure compliance, safety, and optimal patient care.
  • Collaborate with hospital C-suite executives and clinical leadership to align pharmacy services with organizational goals.
  • Maintain standards in sterile compounding and support trauma center pharmacy requirements within a high-acuity environment.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain active licensure credentials required by state and professional bodies.

Qualifications

  • Active Florida Pharmacist License and Consultant Pharmacist License or a clear path to obtain both promptly (mandatory).
  • Minimum of three years’ experience as Director of Pharmacy in an acute care inpatient hospital setting.
  • At least three years of acute care inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.
  • PharmD degree strongly preferred.
  • Board certification and completion of a pharmacy residency program are advantageous.
  • Experience overseeing large pharmacy teams and sterile compounding operations is preferred.
  • Prior leadership experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center environment is a plus.
