About the role
The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive patient care by utilizing the nursing process, technology, and resources within the healthcare setting.
Responsibilities include conducting initial patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and modifying interventions based on ongoing evaluations.
Maintains accurate documentation, ensures patient and staff safety, and communicates effectively with team members to resolve issues and support professional growth.
Provides direct care to CVMS patients, including post-op CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery cases.
Qualifications include an active RN license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, ACLS certification within 1 year, and BLS certification within 30 days, along with a high school diploma or GED.
Skills required involve strong communication, teamwork, safety awareness, and a proactive approach to learning.
Additional duties encompass maintaining a clean work environment, completing departmental competencies, and participating in patient hourly rounding.
