CATIE contest GHG musaceae
The INNOVA-VERDE Ideas Competition seeks to support small and medium-sized producers of bananas, plantains, abaca, green bananas, and other musaceae, as well as individuals who identify as students, young people, Afro-descendants, Indigenous people, and women, among others. The goal is to foster the development of innovative ideas that promote both the diversification and productive efficiency of small and medium-sized musaceae production units and the strengthening of the various links in the associated value chains.
Through these innovative ideas, the replication of measures with the potential to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is also sought, where it is expected to favor, above all, proposals aimed at the replication and scaling up of the Costa Rican Musácea NAMA (Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions).
Participant Profile
- Individuals over 18 years of age.
- Small and medium-sized producers linked to the value chain of musaceae.
- Rural cooperative enterprises.
Benefits
- Up to 7500 euros or its equivalent in colones.
- This money should be used to develop the innovative idea outlined in the proposal.
- Support and mentoring from ACTIVA-CATIE.
