Infusion Nurse

About This Role

This part-time, on-site role at the company's infusion center in Simi Valley, CA, involves administering intravenous and injectable therapies and monitoring patients during and after infusions. The Infusion Nurse collaborates with prescribers, pharmacists, and other care team members to ensure safe and accurate medication administration, contributing to comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Administer intravenous and injectable therapies
• Monitor patients during and after infusions
• Respond to adverse reactions in accordance with clinical protocols
• Collaborate with prescribers, pharmacists, and other care team members to review treatment orders
• Assess patient status
• Ensure safe, accurate medication administration
• Perform clinical assessments
• Maintain detailed documentation
• Educate patients and caregivers about treatment plans and home care
• Uphold infection control and safety standards
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Support a caring, professional environment for patients receiving specialty therapies

Requirements

• Strong Nursing skills, including current RN licensure in California
• Proficiency in IV therapy and infusion practice
• Foundational Medicine knowledge relevant to infusion therapies, including pharmacology, disease states, and recognition of infusion-related complications
• Home Infusion experience or familiarity with coordinating care across infusion center and home settings
• Direct Patient Care skills, including patient assessment, education, communication, and compassionate bedside manner
• Critical Care Medicine or acute care experience to manage adverse reactions, emergencies, and complex clinical situations

Nice to have:

• Experience in specialty pharmacy or infusion centers
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong documentation and EMR skills
• Adherence to infection control and safety protocols
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
