About This Role
This specialist role provides hands-on technical support, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for technology equipment and systems across the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff
Responsibilities
- Travel to various agency offices and facilities to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair technology equipment and systems
- Install, configure, test, and maintain computers, monitors, printers, network devices, and other hardware
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, and equipment issues reported by agency employees
- Assist with the setup, installation, configuration, and maintenance of technology equipment used in patrol operations, investigations, communications, and other agency functions
- Respond to service requests and technical problems, evaluate the cause of issues, and implement appropriate solutions to restore equipment and systems to working order
- Maintain records of equipment installations, repairs, maintenance, and service requests as required
- Prioritize daily assignments and manage multiple service requests to provide timely technical support across agency locations
- Follow agency policies and procedures regarding equipment security, system access, confidentiality, and the handling of sensitive information
- Perform other duties as required or assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor
- Two (2) years of experience in information technology, including the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of computers, network equipment, and other technology systems is preferred
- An equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant work experience may be considered in place of the preferred qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age (upon the date of hire)
- High school diploma or equivalency
- No felony, drug, or domestic violence convictions
- Pass all required pre-employment screenings
- Valid Louisiana driver
- Able to communicate both verbally and in writing as required
- Possess basic computer skills such as typing, writing reports, and sending and/or receiving emails as applicable to the position
Important Details
- Schedule: May include nights, weekends, and holidays as required; may require working varying shifts any day of the week
- Travel: Occasional travel inside/outside of Natchitoches Parish (20 - 30%)
Physical and Dexterity Requirements
- The job requires some combination of walking, standing, kneeling, pushing, stooping, reaching above the shoulder, grasping, pulling, and bending, and exerting up to 25 of force regularly
- Tasks may involve sitting and traveling for long periods of time
