About This Role
This role is for an industrial designer who will generate innovative design concepts and 3D models for product enclosures. The core of the job focuses on form, aesthetics, ergonomics, and color, material, and finish (CMF) of product designs, translating user needs and hardware constraints into visually appealing products.
Responsibilities
- Generate innovative design concepts, sketches, and 3D models for product enclosures, focusing on form, aesthetics, ergonomics, and color, material, and finish (CMF)
- Operate 3D printers (FDM/SLA) to create physical prototypes and mockups for design validation, visual evaluation, and ergonomic testing
- Develop detailed 3D CAD models and high-quality photorealistic renders for internal design reviews and marketing materials
- Translate user needs, functional requirements, and hardware constraints into practical, visually appealing product designs
- Work closely with hardware/electronic engineers to ensure outer enclosure designs properly house PCBs, ports, buttons, and thermal vents while maintaining aesthetic integrity
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in product design, hardware design, or consumer electronics prototyping (Fresh graduates with a strong portfolio are welcome)
- Proficiency in 3D surface modeling software such as Rhino 3D, Fusion 360, or SolidWorks
- Proficiency in KeyShot, Blender, or similar rendering tools to produce photorealistic product visuals
- Experience with 3D printing (slicing software, printer operation, post-processing) and physical prototyping
- Strong sketching ability, solid understanding of ergonomics, and strong attention to visual details
- A digital design portfolio (PDF or link) demonstrating design thinking, sketching, 3D modeling, rendering, and physical prototypes is strictly required
