About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled InDesign Developer with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Adobe InDesign, advanced scripting capabilities, and a deep understanding of PDF creation and management. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing complex design and layout processes, ensuring high-quality output for both digital and print media.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement automated design solutions using Adobe InDesign.

Create, edit, and manage complex InDesign documents and templates, incorporating dynamic data and layout rules.

Ensure the quality and accuracy of PDF outputs for digital and print distribution, including preflight checks and troubleshooting.

Collaborate with developers, graphic designers, and content creators to integrate InDesign workflows with other systems and platforms.

Develop and maintain custom InDesign scripts and plugins using JavaScript, ExtendScript, and other scripting languages.

Optimize InDesign workflows using XML, GREP, and other advanced InDesign features.

Develop plugins in InDesign for Automation tasks.

Stay updated with the latest InDesign and PDF technologies, plugins, and best practices.

Provide technical support and training to team members on advanced InDesign functionalities and scripting techniques.
Technical Requirements :

Minimum of 5 years of experience with Adobe InDesign, including advanced features and scripting.

Strong proficiency in JavaScript, ExtendScript, and other relevant scripting languages for InDesign automation.

Strong proficiency in IDML and template creation in InDesign.

Extensive experience with PDF creation, management, and optimization, including knowledge of PDF/X standards and prepress processes.

Expertise in XML and GREP for advanced data integration and text manipulation within InDesign.

Familiarity with digital publishing formats (ePub, HTML5) and their integration with InDesign.

Knowledge of color management, preflight, and print production processes.

Experience with database-driven publishing systems and the integration of InDesign with DAM (Digital Asset Management) systems.
Preferred Skills:

Experience with InDesign Server for automated document processing.

Familiarity with additional Adobe Creative Suite applications (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat).

Strong knowledge of Perl, XSLT, and IMDL.

Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for digital publishing workflows.

Knowledge of version control systems (Git) for managing scripts and plugin development.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, or a related field.
