About the role

Duties

As an IMMIGRATION SERVICES ANALYST, you will:

  • Coordinate with Adjudications personnel to resolve issues with pending and/or completed applications and petitions. Perform research and conduct studies to determine appropriate course of action on resolution of complex issues and file discrepancies.
  • Direct, implement, coordinate and oversee various electronic databases and systems that focus on long and short range plans, policies, and programs related to goals and objectives and priorities of the Center. Develop & refine data queries, validate and analyze data and create reports for management on program elements.
  • Provide contract oversight. May act as the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) at the local level, performing COTR functions or contractor oversight to ensure compliance with the contract and Statement of Work/Performance Work Statement, after completion of DHS-mandated COTR certification requirements.
  • Monitor operational activities to ensure they meet compliance requirements. Verify data for accuracy, timeliness and completeness and take appropriate corrective action when necessary. Design and conduct audits.
  • Develop and/or conduct briefing presentations, conference material and other communications for supervisors and executive management.
  • Develop, facilitate and/or conduct training to USCIS staff and contractors on standardized procedures and processes related to their duties

Qualifications

Selective Placement Factor: Candidates must have demonstrated experience designing and managing databases supporting web-based applications along with developing and delivering web-based applications using Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban using web-based applications such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, CAML, and SQL programming languages.

GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level you must possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to the GS-12 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:

  • Conducting studies, analyzing findings and making recommendations on substantive operating systems and/or programs that required applying knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques.
  • Performing a variety of analytical studies and projects related to management improvement, productivity improvement, management controls, and long-range planning.
  • Providing recommendations to parties dealing with various management levels throughout an agency or organization.
  • Resolving broad and/or complex problems and issues associated with the planning, coordination, and implementation of agency programs and activities.
  • Developing, facilitating and/or conducting training to staff and contractors on standardized procedures and processes related to their duties.
