Immigration Paralegal

About This Role

This immigration paralegal role is an essential part of the Immigration team, supporting the legal process around immigration. It is ideal for someone interested in law who is great at multitasking, detail-oriented, comfortable with a fast-paced, high-volume caseload, and has strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions and applications for attorney and client review (e.g., submission letters, immigration-related forms, supporting documentation)
• Write and research for petitions including specialty occupation H-1Bs and L-1 intracompany transferee cases, as well as responses to requests for evidence for attorney review
• Manage a heavy client caseload, including case preparation, client email correspondence, and client status calls
• Communicate with government agencies
• Create and maintain client status reports
• Evaluate cases, relay concerns, and proactively escalate to the appropriate team members
• Utilize document and data management systems to prepare, monitor, and record all aspects of client casework

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in Immigration
• Experience managing caseload intakes and filing documents
• Experience handling permanent residency cases
• Experience preparing non-immigrant visa petition packages for review and filing
• Experience responding to immigration inquiries
• Experience with non-immigrant (H-1B, L-1, TN) and immigrant (1-140, I-485) cases
• Experience with immigration case management
• Experience with preparation of PERM labor certification applications
• Experience with other business immigration filings with both consular posts and USCIS (e.g., E-2, E-3, J-1, L-1)
