Immigration Paralegal

About This Role

This role offers an Immigration Paralegal the opportunity to develop experience across corporate and private immigration matters within a highly regarded London law firm. You will join an established Immigration team, supporting on a varied caseload of UK immigration and nationality matters, with the opportunity to manage your own files, develop technical knowledge, and gain exposure to complex applications and appeals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit a broad range of corporate and private immigration applications, including Global Talent and Innovator Founder visas, Skilled Worker, Global Business Mobility and Temporary Worker routes, Sponsor Licence applications, Married and Unmarried Partner applications, EU Settlement Scheme and British citizenship applications
• Draft representations and supporting documentation for immigration applications
• Research immigration matters and regularly review changes to relevant policies and guidance
• Respond to telephone and email enquiries, take instructions from clients and advise on their matters
• Liaise with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) where required and arrange biometric appointments
• Manage your own caseload while providing administrative and research support to the wider team
• Assist with immigration appeals, including drafting grounds of appeal and witness statements, completing appeal forms and lodging appeals
• Prepare and paginate appeal bundles, instruct and liaise with Counsel, and communicate with the relevant courts
• Maintain electronic and paper files and undertake general administrative duties
• Attend marketing, networking and business development events
• Contribute to the smooth running of the team through administrative support

Requirements

• Law degree
• 2 years experience in immigration law, ideally within a corporate immigration practice
• Familiarity with UK immigration applications, procedures and relevant policies and guidance
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle client enquiries and take instructions professionally
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage your own caseload, prioritise competing deadlines and work under pressure
• Good IT skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to work
• A willingness to contribute to the wider team and participate in networking and business development activities

Nice to have:

• Completion of the Legal Practice Course (LPC)
