Immigration Paralegal

About This Role

This part-time immigration paralegal position combines substantive immigration casework with essential in-office administrative and client support. The role suits an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented individual who is organized, proactive, capable of working independently, and comfortable handling multiple responsibilities in a small law firm environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare USCIS applications, petitions, and supporting documentation, including family-based petitions, adjustment of status, employment authorization, and other immigration benefits
• Assist with removal defense cases before EOIR, including preparation of applications, motions, exhibits, and supporting evidence
• Prepare FOIA requests and follow up on pending matters
• Draft correspondence, organize case files, and prepare filings for attorney review
• Track deadlines and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
• Communicate with clients to obtain documents, information, and signatures
• Maintain accurate case information in Docketwise and other firm systems
• Assist with in-person client appointments, document collection, and contract signings
• Answer incoming calls and assist with client intake when needed
• Receive, scan, organize, and distribute incoming mail
• Prepare outgoing correspondence and mailings
• Make occasional trips to the post office, immigration agencies, or other local offices as needed
• Accept client documents and payments in accordance with firm procedures
• Provide administrative support and backup coverage for the Office Manager
• Ensure the Henderson office remains organized and operational during assigned hours

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of immigration law experience preferred
• Prior experience preparing USCIS applications and immigration court filings strongly preferred
• Ability to independently prepare assigned immigration forms and supporting documentation for attorney review
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic case management systems
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Must be able to work in person at our Henderson office during the scheduled hours
• Reliable transportation for occasional work-related errands
