Illustrator / Digital Artist / Designer

About This Role

This role involves telling stories through drawings, designs, and graphics, from initial sketch to high-resolution, production-ready delivery. It is a hands-on position, working alongside writers, producers, and the creative team to build worlds that families love.

Responsibilities

• Produce concept art, illustrations, and digital designs from a creative brief
• Sketch characters, environments, icons, infographics, and other visual elements that support storytelling
• Work in distinctive styles across a variety of mediums, producing both quick "rough" drawings and highly detailed "clean" final digital deliverables
• Deliver assets for a wide range of needs, from corporate partnerships to comics
• Use colour palettes, textures, and linework to evoke specific moods
• Check artwork for print accuracy, colour requirements, panel alignment, and quality
• Meet existing art standards and style guidelines, ensuring consistency and continuity
• Adapt and polish artwork based on creative feedback to hit tight production deadlines
• Contribute to the ongoing development of multiple family-friendly brands
• Manage your assigned tasks and timelines using agreed workflows, keeping accurate job notes and status updates in our project management system

Requirements

• Portfolio of work that demonstrates the above for consideration
• Based in Melbourne
• Able to work from our Collingwood HQ studios
• Creative mind, excellent drawing skills, and the ability to interpret and deliver to a brief
• Ability to understand a brand and adapt your style to suit it
• Strong artistic fundamentals: composition, colour theory, perspective, typography, layout, and visual hierarchy
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience working on MacBooks with drawing tablets
• Ability to draw and work quickly, take direction, and navigate constructive criticism

Nice to have:

• Interest in using emerging tech to speed up monotonous tasks like briefing, mockups, and repetitive adjustments
• Familiarity with product design pipelines, animation, cartooning, sketching, or comic-style projects
