Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders (risk leads, risk data owner, technology teams) to translate business needs into data requirements and analytical solutions.
- Analyse and interpret new data sources to design, develop, and maintain scalable AWS-based transformation pipelines and high-quality data models (dbt and Trino), implement and govern consistent data quality standards (including dbt expectations), and create and operate Apache Airflow workflows to automate processing with reliable scheduling, orchestration, monitoring, and end-to-end assurance of data quality and consistency across pipelines, models, and downstream consumption.
- Responsible to execute data migrations, ensuring appropriate planning, validation, reconciliation, and controlled delivery aligned to governance and risk requirements.
- Operate key governance controls across Data Quality, Data Protection, Data Use, and Data Retention Destruction, aligned to BCBS 239 principles.
- Adhere to governance processes for analytical solutions and stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data and visualization.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Bachelor s degree in a relevant field and 7+ years of experience in Data Management, Analytics, and Visualization.
- Strong hands-on experience with analytical solution design, data pipelines, data modeling, and advanced SQL (window functions, joins, aggregations, performance tuning).
- Strong proficiency with AWS services and modern data engineering tooling, including dbt transformation, dbt expectations, Trino, Amazon SageMaker, GitHub, and Python.
- Strong experience to build scalable dbt models using multiple incremental processing techniques to enable efficient and reliable data loading at scale, developing data quality rules using dbt expectations and reusable dbt macros to support consistency, maintainability, and auditability.
- Hands-on in building scalable LookML models and advanced visualizations in Google Looker.
- Excellent communication skills, experience in agile environments.
Additional Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Knowledge of UK Germany Retail Banking Products, Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, Capital Credit Forecasting.
- Experience with Python and data manipulation libraries, and understanding of descriptive statistics concepts.
- Highly self-motivated, able to prioritize and execute tasks under pressure.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, JIRA, and Confluence.
