Job Description: HVAC Controls Service Technician
Position Overview:
Client is seeking an experienced DDC Controls Service Technician to support client’s growing base of captive service customers as well as provide service support to installed-project clients.
- This role focuses exclusively on controls systems associated with HVAC equipment—including VAV boxes, air handling units, pumps, and related control devices.
- This position does not involve mechanical service or equipment repair.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair DDC control systems associated with HVAC equipment.
- Respond to service calls for both contracted service customers and installed-project clients.
- Identify control-related issues including sensors, controllers, actuators, networks, and programming logic.
- Navigate and support systems using Niagara Framework (N4) Perform point-to-point verification, controller replacement, and minor programming modifications.
- Identify service opportunities and communicate recommendations to customers and internal
- teams.
- Accurately document service activities and resolutions.
- Support long-term system reliability and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications:
Prior DDC controls experience required (manufacturer background does not matter).
- Strong understanding of building automation systems.
- Ability to work independently in the field.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
Niagara N4 programming or navigation experience
- Familiarity with Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider, or similar BAS platforms
- Ability to read control drawings, sequences, and wiring diagrams
