Position Summary
Brazosport College, a two-time Top 10 finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and Achieving the Dream Leader College, seeks a dynamic and innovative individual to join its Speech Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports student success by preparing curriculum, including writing syllabi, developing new courses, selecting textbooks, etc.;
- Developing and teaching Humanities classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods;
- Teaching on campus and at offsite locations, including local high schools;
- Assisting in the advisement of students; and serving on various assigned college committees.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Humanities OR Master's degree with 18 graduate hours from any one or a combination of the following areas: Philosophy, English Literature, Arts, History, Classical Studies, and Humanities;
- Teaching experience at the community college level desirable; ability to teach using multiple delivery methods, including online and hybrid instruction;
- Demonstrated ability in working with culturally diverse populations;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one's value to the institution;
- Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credential are met;
