HRIS Specialist - Workday

About This Role

This HRIS Specialist role supports, enhances, and evolves the client's HR technology ecosystem, with Workday serving as the payroll platform and internally developed applications supporting critical HR operations. This position goes beyond traditional HRIS administration, seeking a systems-minded professional to bridge business needs and technology solutions by translating requirements into scalable, efficient, and user-centric applications. You will work across the full solution lifecycle, partnering with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to analyze processes, design improvements, implement solutions, and drive continuous optimization.

Responsibilities

• Partner with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to understand business objectives, gather requirements, and translate needs into scalable technical solutions
• Analyze and improve business processes through workflow design, system enhancements, automation, and continuous process optimization
• Design, configure, test, implement, and support HR systems, enterprise applications, and cross-functional technology solutions
• Collaborate with technical teams to develop and maintain integrations between HR platforms, internally developed applications, and enterprise systems
• Troubleshoot system issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions to improve system reliability and user experience
• Support the ongoing administration and enhancement of HR technology platforms and business applications
• Develop reports, dashboards, and analytics that provide actionable insights for operational management and business decision-making
• Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), release management, change management, and production deployments
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, data quality, and employee experience
• Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout project lifecycles
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the United States, Taiwan, China, and other global regions to support enterprise initiatives and cross-regional projects
• Create and maintain functional documentation, process maps, technical specifications, and system support materials

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 2+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications, HR technology, workflow platforms, business systems, or related technology solutions
• Experience gathering business requirements and converting them into technical and process-driven solutions
• Understanding of system architecture, business process design, workflow automation, integrations, and data management principles
