HR Manager

About This Role

Leading the company's HR function and supporting the development of a high-performing workforce is the core of this strategic and people-focused Human Resources Manager position. The role oversees key areas of human resource management, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation, HR policies, and compliance. This manager will also serve as a key link between management and employees, helping to foster a positive, productive, and professional workplace culture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the company's business objectives
• Advise management on people-related matters and workforce planning
• Review HR processes and recommend improvements that support business growth and efficiency
• Maintain effective HR policies, procedures, and employee guidelines
• Manage the full recruitment and selection process, from identifying staffing needs to onboarding new employees
• Work with department heads to develop job descriptions and define hiring requirements
• Ensure new employees are properly onboarded and integrated into the organization
• Develop strategies for attracting, retaining, and developing high-performing employees
• Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, grievances, and workplace issues
• Manage employee relations matters fairly, professionally, and confidentially
• Support conflict resolution and promote positive relationships between management and employees
• Promote a professional, inclusive, and positive workplace culture
• Coordinate employee engagement and team-building initiatives
• Coordinate the company's performance management and appraisal processes
• Work with managers to establish performance expectations and address performance gaps
• Identify training and development needs across the organization
• Coordinate relevant training, learning, and career development initiatives
• Support the administration of benefits, leave, attendance, and other employer-related matters
• Review compensation and benefits structures to ensure they remain fair and competitive
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation
• Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive employee information
• Ensure HR practices comply with applicable Nigerian labour laws and employment regulations
• Review and update HR policies, procedures, employee handbooks, and employment documentation as required
• Ensure consistent application of company policies and disciplinary procedures
• Stay informed about changes in employment legislation and HR best practices
