HR Generalist

About This Role

This HR Generalist role is within the HR Business Unit for Support Services and the Healthcare Business Unit at UZ Brussel. It involves supporting managers, guiding employees, and contributing to a future-oriented HR policy in a dynamic hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise and support managers on various HR issues, from personnel planning to talent development and well-being
• Guide performance, follow-up, and personnel files, and support complex discussions
• Handle urgent personnel issues and provide quality HR support for conflicts, absenteeism, reintegration, and outflow
• Thoroughly prepare files and support the HR Business Manager on tactical and strategic HR issues
• Lead or support HR projects, contribute to process improvements, and monitor the progress of actions and deliverables
• Develop expertise within one or more HR domains and share this knowledge with colleagues
• Collaborate closely with HR Business Managers, HR consultants, HR experts, and other internal partners to ensure optimal service delivery

Requirements

• Passion for HR: you are energized by guiding managers and employees and think solution-oriented about personnel challenges
• Strong HR knowledge: you have a good basic knowledge of social and labor legislation and know how to apply it in practice
• Strong communication skills: you conduct professional advisory and personnel discussions and convey difficult messages constructively
• Proficient in Dutch, both orally and in writing
• Empathetic and discreet: you handle sensitive information professionally and have an eye for the person behind every situation
• Analytical and organized: you can structure complex files, set priorities, and meticulously follow up on processes
• Collaborative: you build strong relationships with managers, colleagues, and stakeholders and actively contribute to positive cooperation
• Master's degree or equivalent experience
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in HR, employee guidance, management, and/or organizational development
• Affinity with the healthcare sector is a plus
