HR Generalist

About This Role

The HR Generalist is an essential partner to the Shelbyville, KY Operations team, providing comprehensive HR and Safety program support to plant management. This role is on-site five days a week and primarily supports the Shelbyville plant, while also leading and supporting Ventek HR-related projects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR support to the operations teams, including administering company policies, procedures, and programs
• Lead and support employee engagement and culture activities
• Lead plant safety initiatives and processes, including lock out/tag out, MHE, safe work practices, safety incident reporting, and investigation
• Ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll details for timely payroll processing
• Actively monitor the local market to understand wage practices and employment trends
• Work with Managers and corporate Talent Acquisition to determine staffing needs and develop job descriptions
• Facilitate the hiring process for the plant, including managing job postings, recruiting, interviewing, and selecting talent
• Conduct employee onboarding, training, and assist management with monitoring performance according to Ventek standards
• Maintain employment-related documentation
• Act as point of contact for benefit programs, including open enrollment communication, benefits enrollment, general plan questions, and resolving benefit issues
• Partner with leadership on coaching, development, employee relations matters, and investigations as needed
• Manage leave of absence requests, including FMLA, ADA, and Worker’s Compensation matters
• Maintain working knowledge of existing and new Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations affecting the workforce
• Make recommendations as needed to update policies and procedures
• Perform other similar or related duties as requested or assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of three years’ experience working in one or more functional areas of Human Resources or a related area
• At least two years’ experience with Employee Relations, Policy and Procedure administration, safety, compliance, and/or related HR Generalist experience is preferred
• Experience working in a manufacturing setting is preferred
• Operationally proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and applicant tracking systems
• Effective communicator and builds relationships across functions
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred
• A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the education requirement
