HR Assistant

About This Role

Working in the British Columbia HR Team, the HR Assistant supports the overall goals and people strategy for the region. This role is based on site in Vancouver, reporting to the BC HR Manager and collaborating with the local team to support all BC Dealership Operations and a staff base of more than 1200 people.

Responsibilities

• Support all locations with recruitment, including posting and managing jobs, creating offer letters, assisting with reference checks, onboarding, and exit management
• Ensure employee changes, transfers, and dismissal paperwork are accurate and processed in a timely manner
• Provide letters of employment when requested
• Communicate employee movement notifications to required departments
• Assist in the creation of HR policies and procedures within the scope of responsibilities as needed
• Assist in various HR projects, both regional and national, as needed
• Manage Headcount reports and trackers
• Build and maintain relationships with other support functions, including payroll
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree or diploma in Human Resources
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Effective communicator both verbally and in writing
• Growth mindset – willing to take on new tasks with a willingness to grow personally and professionally
• Ability to prioritize tasks for self and others and follow through to completion
• Excellent follow up, internal customer service, and administrative skills
• Organized and detail oriented
• Ability to work in a team environment to achieve common goals
• Proficient in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
