Housekeeping Worker

About This Role

Working as a Housekeeping Worker, you will help maintain clean, orderly, and sanitary spaces, with a focus on the needs of healthcare facilities. You will use cleaning equipment and approved chemical agents carefully, follow safety protocols, and support infection prevention and control practices. Consistent cleaning and sanitation help protect guests, visitors, and staff by reducing environmental risks and keeping shared spaces ready for use.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect rooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces using appropriate methods and supplies
• Perform laundry tasks and routine floor care, including operating cleaning equipment safely
• Handle and store cleaning chemicals according to product directions and applicable safety procedures
• Follow healthcare infection prevention and control practices, sanitation standards, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidance
• Respond professionally to requests, provide courteous customer service, and report supply or safety concerns

Requirements

• Ability to perform manual handling and heavy lifting using safe lifting practices, and to follow safety protocols consistently
• Familiarity with cleaning, laundry, chemical handling, sanitation, and floor care
• Healthcare facilities housekeeping or environmental services experience is helpful
• Janitorial or custodial experience is preferred
• Clear communication, attention to detail, and a dependable approach to assigned tasks
