Hotel Manager

About This Role

Leading with energy, clarity, and purpose, the Hotel Manager will join the leadership team at Crystalbrook Riley in Cairns. This highly visible role carries broad operational responsibility across the hotel, playing a key part in shaping the guest experience, building operational capability, and fostering a high-performing culture from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the General Manager and department leaders to ensure every area of the hotel operates with confidence, consistency, and genuine personality
• Support operational planning
• Develop procedures
• Prepare teams
• Embed service standards
• Ensure the hotel opens with strong foundations for long-term success
• Inspire others through visible leadership
• Create accountability across the operation
• Bring teams together around a shared vision for exceptional hospitality
• Challenge traditional ways of working and identify new opportunities to elevate the guest and Collaborator experience
• Balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, remaining closely connected to the day-to-day operation
• Maintain focus on performance, culture, and continuous improvement
• Lead across multiple departments, balancing the needs of guests, Collaborators, and the commercial performance of the hotel
• Bring structure, energy, and clear direction throughout pre-opening and into establishment

Requirements

• Proven senior operational leadership experience within a luxury, premium, or full-service hotel environment
• Strong knowledge across rooms, front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and guest services
• A visible and hands-on leadership style that builds trust, accountability, and engagement
• The ability to inspire, coach, and develop high-performing department leaders and operational teams
• Strong commercial awareness, with an understanding of labor, productivity, guest satisfaction, and financial performance
• The confidence to make sound decisions in complex, high-pressure, and time-sensitive situations
• A creative and forward-thinking approach to improving service, systems, and the overall guest experience
• A strong commitment to quality, consistency, and operational excellence
• The ability to work collaboratively with the General Manager and broader leadership team
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with guests, owners, partners, and Collaborators
• A genuine passion for creating a distinctive hotel culture and memorable hospitality experiences
