Hotel Front Desk Agent

About This Role

This front desk agent role is for a friendly, dependable, and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with people and helping guests have a memorable stay at an oceanfront boutique hotel. The agent will be one of the first people guests meet and an important part of their experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and handle check-ins and check-outs
• Answer telephone calls and respond to guest inquiries
• Take and manage hotel reservations
• Explain room types, rates, amenities, and hotel policies
• Process payments and maintain accurate reservation records
• Take reservations for Shoals Restaurant
• Communicate with housekeeping to coordinate room readiness
• Inspect guest rooms to ensure they meet our standards
• Assist guests with questions, special requests, and concerns
• Help resolve guest issues professionally and thoughtfully
• Perform a variety of administrative and operational tasks that keep our small hotel running smoothly

Requirements

• Friendly, welcoming, and professional
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible
• Comfortable communicating with guests in person, by telephone, and by email
• Organized and attentive to detail
• Comfortable using computers and learning new software
• Able to work independently and as part of a small team
• Willing to take initiative and help wherever needed
• Calm and resourceful when handling guest concerns

Nice to have:

• Previous hotel experience
• Experience in customer service, restaurants, retail, or hospitality

Important Details

• Schedule: Friday–Monday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM; approximately 32 hours per week
• Employment type: full-time or part-time
• Availability on weekends and applicable holidays is required
