Hospitality Assistant - Kitchen Assistant/Servery

About This Role

Working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment, the Hospitality Assistant builds hands-on skills in food preparation, plating, and kitchen operations. Collaborating with the Chef Manager and Hotel Services Team, you will help deliver high-quality meals that significantly improve residents' daily lives. This role involves physical tasks like bending, squatting, lifting, and pushing items safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential support to the hospitality team
• Assist with food preparation, plating, and meal service
• Perform dishwashing duties
• Maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas
• Ensure residents are provided with nutritious meals
• Create a positive, welcoming dining experience for residents
• Prepare and serve beverages (Café Assistants)
• Support light food service (Café Assistants)
• Maintain high café presentation standards (Café Assistants)
• Create a warm, welcoming social environment within the facility (Café Assistants)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and high empathy as interacting with residents is a daily occurrence
• Ability to turn up to shift on time, be ready to start shifts, and follow the day's activities in a positive manner
• Adopt a safety-first approach to daily tasks and supporting colleagues at all times
• Current NDIS clearance or willingness to apply
• Proof of age (e.g., driver's license or age card; passport will not be accepted)

Nice to have:

• Demonstrated cleaning, hospitality, food service, or customer service experience (preferred but not essential depending on the role)
