Overview
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting multiple Hospitalists to support the Fargo VA Health Care System. Schedule typically includes either 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Responsibilities
- Admit and coordinate care for hospitalized medical patients.
- Perform history and physical examinations upon admission.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat hospitalized patients.
- Order and interpret:
- Laboratory tests
- Diagnostic imaging
- Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
- Prescribe and manage medications.
- Coordinate patient placement within the hospital.
- Conduct end-of-life discussions and advance care planning.
- Consult with specialty and subspecialty providers.
- Manage discharge planning and ensure appropriate follow-up care.
- Coordinate care with primary care providers.
- Provide perioperative medical management.
- Assess and stabilize patients with emergent conditions.
- Participate in rapid response teams and code team activations.
- Abscess incision and drainage.
- Thoracentesis.
- Paracentesis.
- Lumbar puncture.
- Nasogastric tube insertion/reinsertion.
- Transurethral catheter placement.
- Removal of lines and tubes.
- Joint aspiration/injection (excluding ankle and hip).
- Tennis elbow injections.
- Fecal occult blood testing.
- All ACLS procedures.
- Review all admissions recommended by NPs and PAs.
- Participate in person-to-person handoffs for inpatient admissions.
- Provide consultation and treatment recommendations to referring providers.
- Initiate social work referrals for homeless veterans and patients without primary care providers.
- Provide patient discharge education and follow-up instructions.
- Ensure communication of test results in accordance with VA policy.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
- Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- Active AHA BLS and ACLS.
- Must be able to pass a Federal background investigation.
