Responsibilities
- Perform thorough residential home inspections, evaluating roofing, exteriors, foundations, structural components, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, attics, interiors, and other accessible systems
- Identify and document defects, safety concerns, and maintenance recommendations
- Prepare detailed digital inspection reports with clear descriptions and photographs
- Communicate inspection findings professionally to clients and real estate agents
- Provide an excellent customer experience by answering questions and explaining findings in an easy-to-understand manner
- Manage inspection appointments and travel to properties throughout the service area
- Maintain inspection equipment and company standards
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
- Represent Northwoods Home Inspection Group professionally while building positive relationships with clients and real estate professionals
Requirements
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently
- Comfortable working with technology, including tablets, smartphones, and inspection software
- Ability to work in attics, crawlspaces, basements, and other confined areas
- Comfortable using ladders and working at heights when conditions are safe
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel throughout the service area
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willingness to complete required training and obtain applicable home inspection certifications
Nice to have:
- Experience in construction, remodeling, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or other residential trades
- Existing home inspection certification or having passed the National Home Inspector Examination (NHIE)
- Experience in customer service, sales, or other client-facing positions
- General knowledge of residential construction and home systems

Important Details
- Schedule: full-time position, daytime hours with scheduling based on inspection appointments, some weekend work
- Travel: throughout the Twin Cities, Rochester, and surrounding communities
- Ability to complete up to two inspections per day once fully trained
