About This Role
This role involves performing thorough residential home inspections and clearly communicating findings to clients. The Home Inspector will join an established team in the Hudson Valley, bringing their expertise to a company that provides clients, scheduling, and equipment. The position suits a professional who takes pride in their work and enjoys helping people understand their homes.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough residential home inspections throughout the service area
- Prepare accurate, detailed inspection reports with clear photographs and practical explanations
- Walk clients through findings in a calm, approachable way
- Communicate professionally with clients, real estate agents, and teammates
- Follow applicable inspection standards, safety practices, and company procedures
- Maintain company-provided inspection equipment and complete reports within company deadlines
Requirements
- An active New York State Home Inspector license
- Strong knowledge of residential construction and home systems
- Excellent attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication
- Reliability, sound judgment, and a friendly, professional manner
- Comfort using inspection reporting software and mobile technology
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout the Hudson Valley
- Ability to perform the essential physical duties of inspections, with reasonable accommodation where applicable
Nice to have:
- Prior inspection experience
- Additional experience or credentials in septic inspections, plumbing, electrical, contracting, mold assessment, or other related services

Important Details
- Schedule: Inspector maintains regular availability throughout the week, typically scheduled for up to 2 inspections (around 2 hours each) per work day, including some Saturdays and/or Sundays each month. Consistent weekend availability is needed on Saturdays or Sundays.
